Georgia Brumley, 104, of Oakland, Iowa, formerly of Lebanon, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, in the Oakland Manor Nursing Home in Oakland, Iowa.
She was born May 10, 1908, near Brownfield, Mo. to George Barton and Luella Campbell Nicks.
On May 25, 1929, she married Lonnie L. Brumley.
Early in her life, she taught at a rural school near Nebo and Morehouse. Throughout most of her life she also worked as a devoted homemaker for her husband and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lonnie, on Dec. 25, 1985; a daughter, Shirley Gilpin; a son, Dean Brumley; and two sisters, Nellie Core and Ida Myers.
Survivors include a daughter, Lois E. Fichter of Council Bluffs, Iowa; two sons, Lee Brumley and his wife, Betty of Carson, Iowa, and Homer Brumley and his wife, Jeri, of Warsaw; 11 grandchildren, Keith, Kirk, Mike, Rhonda, Steven, Bob, Arlene, Julie, Dan, Earl and Jill; 16 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Georgia Brumley will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon with Rev. Roger Marshall officiating.
Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled for 6-7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Second Baptist Church.
