Mrs. A. W. Toland, wife of Dr. A. W. Toland of Chapel Hill, passed away at 9:50 Saturday morning, and funeral services will be held from the family residence at Chapel Hill at three o'clock Sunday afternoon, with Rev. Weatherby and Rev. House of the Methodist church officiating.
Decedent had been a resident of Chapel Hill since her marriage to Dr. Toland in 1894. She was a faithful member of the Methodist church and was prominent in Eastern Star activities. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. L. A. Carlins of Lake Charles, La., a son, Edmund Toland of Houston, and the following stepchildren: Mrs. Bland, Mrs. H. H. Jackson, Mrs. H. W. Miller, Joe F. Toland, and A. W. Toland. She also leaves a brother, D. H. Hale of Aberdeen, Mississippi, and a sister, Mrs. Mattie Felder, who resides with her. Many warm friends will be grieved to learn of her death.
