William F. (Tainey) Arnold, age 97 of the Harmon community, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019 in Gatesville.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Stephen Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow at Slater Cemetery.

Mr. Arnold was born on March 20, 1921 at home, by Bennett Creek in Lampasas County. He grew up in the Star community, until moving with his family to New Mexico in 1938. In 1939, he moved to west Texas, living in McCamey and Toyah where he was a ranch cowboy. In 1951 he moved to Pecos and later Monahans, working for Southern Union Gas Company until his retirement in 1981. After his retirement, he moved to the Harmon community of Coryell County, where he ranched. He married Doris Tubbs in 1946 and she preceded him in death in 1996.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Larry Arnold in 2016 and his wife, Betty in 2000; and four brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by a daughter, Elaine Parisher and husband, James; two grandchildren, Amanda Henne and husband, Justin and Lance Parisher and wife, Alissa; two great-grandchildren, Shelby and Luke Henne.
