Eudora Mattingly, 81 of Bardstown passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She was born December 19, 1932 in Nelson County, a homemaker and an avid quilter. She is preceded in death by her parents, Palmer and Nora Auberry; two brothers, William Auberry and Nekomos Auberry; two sisters, Elizabeth Downs and Thelma Wheeler. She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Mattingly of Bardstown; seven children, Ginnie (Danny) Keeling of New Hope, Laura Greenwell of Bardstown, Pam (Donnie) Taylor of New Haven, Fran (Jodie) Filiatreau, Tony (Mary Jo) Mattingly, Kenny Mattingly all of Bardstown, John Paul Mattingly of California, sixteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Elsie Smith of Nazareth, Georgia Bradley of Bardstown and Helen Reid of Louisville; sister-in-law, Margaret Auberry; and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Rev. Bill Hammer will be officiating. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10:15 a.m. Wednesday at Barlow Funeral Home. A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial contributions may go to St. Joseph Bereavement Committee.
