Anna Mae "Ann" Acree Broughton

Ann Broughton, 95, passed away February 8, 2019. She was born in Dial, Texas to Jackson and Mildred (Hill) Acree on May 21, 1923.

Ann proudly worked as an operating nurse, providing her services to Baylor, Parkland and Methodist hospital for 50 years. During her work she was blessed to be a part of surgical teams that participated in the first heart and lung transplant.

She loved sports, she was a Rangers fanatic and an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. In her younger years she played on the women's professional baseball league for Mobil Oil, and worked for the Cowboys Organization during the Texas Stadium years. She was a resident of Bonham before moving to Irving and making it her home for 48 years but spent her last 20 years living in Garland.

She is preceded in death by her parents and daughters, Marcia, Sara and Betty. Survived by her sons, Nathaniel and Timothy Broughton, grand children, great grand children, along with numerous extended family and friends.

A graveside service will be held February 12, 2019 at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving, Texas. BRFH
