James E "Bud" Rader, 87, of Little York, died Friday, Jan 1, 2016 at the Roseville Health and Rehab Center.
Services for Bud will be 1 p.m. Monday at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo, with visitation one hour before services. Burial will be at Aledo Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Sunbeam United Presbyterian Church, rural Aledo.
James Edgar was born on Jan 21, 1928, in Aledo, the son of Fletcher & Winifred Combs Rader. He married Lois Mae Landis on Aug 31, 1957, at the Sunbeam United Presbyterian Church. She preceded him in death on Dec 18, 2014.
Bud was a World War II Navy veteran. After serving his country, he came home to farm in Ohio Grove Township, until retiring, when he and Lois moved to Little York. Bud was known for raising honey bees and horseradish.
Those left to cherish Bud's memory include his children and spouses, Diane & Scotty Goodell, Roseville, Brian & Sharla Rader, Henderson, Neb., and a daughter in Arizona; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one lovingly expected; four great-great grandchildren; sister, Betty Anderson, Rock Island; and a brother at heart, Roger Rader, Aledo. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a son, David; a granddaughter, Cindy; sisters, Louise, Irene and three in infancy.
