Floyd Ernest Williamson age 102 of Osawatomie, KS died Tuesday February 5, 2019 at Lifecare Center of Osawatomie.

Floyd was born February 14, 1916 in Osawatomie, KS. He was the youngest of three children born to John Carney and Nora Mae (Bouton) Williamson. Floyd grew up in Osawatomie and attended the Crescent Hill School.

After school, Floyd worked on the farm with his family and also worked at a filling station in Osawatomie. Floyd and Gwendolen Morgan were united in marriage on August 10, 1937 in Mound City, Kansas. They made their home in the Osawatomie area. Together the couple had two children, Darrell and Saundra. Then in August 5, 1942, he went to work for the Missouri Pacific Railroad as a Switchman. Floyd worked for the railroad for 33 years before retiring in 1976.

Even while working, Floyd had his farm. He raised cows, horses, chickens, pigs and goats. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and made ornaments for his whole family. Floyd worked on all of his own equipment. He and Gwen would travel to Estes Park in Colorado every summer. Floyd liked to hunt, fish and ride his motorcycle when he was young.

Floyd was preceded in death by his wife of 80 years Gwen, his parents, brother Marion Williamson and sister Neva Siskey

Survivors include his son Darrell (Barbara) Williamson of Spring Hill, KS and daughter Saundra (Jim) Crowl of Osawatomie, KS, Ten grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren. Along with other family and friends.
