Alice A. Beckom, 88, made her transition on Jan. 30, 2019.
A celebration of her life will be held Thursday, 11 a.m., at Whigham Funeral Home, 580 Dr. Martin L. King Jr. Blvd., Newark, N.J. Interment is in Fairmount Cemetery, Newark. Visitation is Thursday, 10 a.m., until time of service, at the funeral home.
Born in Lottsburg, Va., Alice was a resident of Belleville, N.J. She was a retired U.S. Postal Service worker.
She was the beloved wife of the late William (Willie) D. Beckom Sr. and former wife of Francis Weiss Sr.; devoted mother of Francis "Steve" Weiss Jr. (Charlene) and Kathleen Hatcher; dear daughter of the late Chapel and Florence Brown, and loving sister of the late Howard Brown and the late Peggy Bartow. She is also survived by four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
