Born July 22, 1945, at Durbin, he has a son of the late Kenneth and Hazel Smith Lambert.
Roy worked as a home confinement officer with the Pocahontas County Sheriff's Department, was a mason, a former police officer in Marlinton and an instructor for Hunter Safety Classes.
He is survived by his wife, Francine C. Lambert, of Durbin; four daughters, Tammy Leach, and husband, Pat, of Montrose, Jackie Galford, and husband, Doug, of Dunmore, Kim Gibson, and husband, Todd, of Marlinton, and Sarah Lambert, of Durbin; four sons, Roy H. Lambert, Jr., and wife, Andrea, of Durbin, Rick Lambert, and wife, Donna, of McDowell County, Scott Lambert, of Iowa, and Frankie Lambert, of Durbin; two sisters, Virginia "Gin" Rexrode, of Durbin, and Gracie Richardson, of Warrenton, Virginia; three brothers, John Lambert, and wife, Marie, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, William "Bill" Lambert, of Manassas, Virginia, and Donald Lambert, and wife, Mary, of Mechanicsville, Virginia; 14 grandchildren, Andrea Phillips, Daniel Leach, Steven Leach, Amanda Nottingham, Megan Galford, Gus Foe, Wyatt Foe, Kailey Gibson, Braelyn Gibson, Cadence Lambert, Michael Lambert, Justin Lambert, McKenzie Lambert and Jessica Bailey; and five great-grandchildren, Jared Reel, Conner Phillips, Oden Phillips, Kelsey Leach and Adrian Bailey.
Family will receive friends Thursday, August 26, from 6 -8 p.m. at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale. Funeral service is Friday, August 27, 2 p.m. at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home with Rev. David Rittenhouse officiating. Interment will be in the Arbovale Cemetery Annex.
