Survivors include three sons, Edward J. Schoen of Valparaiso, William G. Schoen of Nyssa, Ore., and Emil R. Schoen of Fairbury; one daughter, Mrs. Earl (Amanda) Pointer of Nelson.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 4, in the Zion Ev. and Reformed Church one mile east of Gladstone with Rev. Bryce Hecht officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Schoen had enjoyed a happy reunion of all four children and members of their families on Monday, December 26. She became ill and was taken to the hospital Tuesday night, December 27.
Mr. and Mrs. Schoen of Oregon averaged coming to Nebraska for a visit with relatives every two years, but always in the summer. This was their first Christmas in Nebraska since they moved to Oregon in 1940.
Mr. and Mrs. Pointer went to Fairbury Friday and will return later this week.
