Bonnie Louise Gordon, age 91, passed away on Saturday morning, February 2, 2019 at West Ridge Specialty Care in Knoxville. She was born on May 1, 1927 to Clarence and Jennie (Nedderman) Potts.

She married Darwin “Peanuts” Gordon on Jan 16, 1949 in Albia, and they were blessed with four children: Dianne, Rick, Pam, and Ardie. Peanuts passed away on September 13, 2016.

She was a beautician, and sold Luzier cosmetics. She was a member of the Community Baptist Church in Bussey, and the Eastern Star Lodge. She enjoyed traveling, camping, crafting, playing the piano and organ, baking, making apple cider, and her specialty was “Grandma’s Noodles”. Her faith and family were her world, and she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Bonnie was a huge advocate for breast cancer awareness.

Survivors include, children, Dianne Cardenzana of Olathe, KS, Rick Gordon of Knoxville, Pam (Mark) Kurimski of Lovilia, Ardie (Lynn) Gordon of Waterloo; nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Jennie Potts; husband, Darwin “Peanuts” Gordon; two brothers, Alvin and Richard Potts.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m, Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia with Chaplain Don Efinger officiating. A funeral luncheon will follow at the funeral home in Albia, followed by burial in Woodlawn Cemetery in Lovilia. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia, opening to the public at 1:00 p.m., and Bonnie’s family will be present to greet friends from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home Tuesday evening. Memorials may be directed to the Lovilia Community Betterment. Online condolences may be left for the family at sinnottfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are entrusted with Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia.
