THE HERALD STATESMAN, YONKERS, N.Y., TUESDAY, MAY 4, 1937
...former Democratic district leader of the Fifth Ward and father of Simon Sabot, inspector for the Yonkers Railroad Company, died of heart failure this morning at his home, 68 Croton Terrace. A son of Peter and Anastasia Ladicka Sabot, he came to this country at age 9 and settled with his parents in Mayfield, Pa. Seven years later he came to Yonkers and had lived here since. Employed for 23 years in the weaving department of Alexander Smith and Sons Carpet Company; for the last five years was a night watchman for the Yonkers D.P.W. Surviving besides his son, his wife, the former Barbara Czar, whom he married 43 years ago in Yonkers; six more sons, Michael, retired petty officer USN, now in Long Beach, Calif; Anthony, Andrew, Alexander, John Jr and Demetry; daughters Olga and Mary [1918-2008; married Peter Hakun], all of this city; and brothers Demetri and Stephen Sabot, both of NYC. Funeral from the home Thursday; mass of requiem in Russian Orthodox Church.
