Funeral for Harley D. Pierson, 86, of Hartselle will be today, June 1, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Junior Hill and Bro. Brooks Barkley officiating.
Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Pierson, who died Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at Summerford Nursing Home, was born March 1, 1921, in Arkansas to Clyde Pierson and Harriett Felts Pierson. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. He loved the Lord with all his heart and was never too busy to help his fellow man. He loved his family. Mr. Pierson served in the U.S. Army in World War II from 1941 until 1945. He was involved in the D-Day Invasion and the Battle of the Bulge. He also fought in the Korean War. His brothers, Homer Pierson and Ray Pierson, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Patrick Pierson; one daughter, Pat Crouch and her husband, Dr. Will R. Crouch of Hartselle; one sister, Thelma Barkley of Bono, Ark.; three grandsons, John Crouch and his wife, Amy, David Crouch and his wife, Celeste, and Steve Crouch; and three great-grandchildren, Lyndsey, Emily and Logan Crouch.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Phil Gault, Robert Francis, Robert Wright, Charles Howse, Mike Elam and Bart Elam.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Organization.
