Elsie Na Dene Waldron

April 7, 1937 - January 28, 2019 (age 81)

ST. GEORGE, UTAH – Elsie Na Dene Waldron passed away on the afternoon of January 28, 2019 surrounded by family. She was born April 7, 1937 in Preston, Idaho to Daniel Belton Hatch and Gayle Pope Hatch. Na Dene grew up with her three brothers Terrell, Eldon and Dahl in farming communities in Idaho where she learned to drive tractor. She graduated from North Gem High School in Bancroft, Idaho, she then attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. In 1955 she married Kay D. Jenkins and they had nine children together and later divorced. On August 31, 1974 she married Jack La Monte Waldron, her eternal companion, in the Idaho Falls Temple. In 1976 they had a daughter, making Na Dene a mother of ten. Over the years she enjoyed watching her family grow and became grandmother to 41 and great-grandmother to 61.

Na Dene had an eye for interior design and enjoyed decorating her home with antiques and knick-knacks she collected over the years. Na Dene was also great at sales and marketing and enjoyed a career in both fields. In her younger years she would sew matching outfits for her children. We think she liked it more than we did. She loved spending time in her yard and gardening. She had a green thumb and with her farming experience she could grow just about anything and was always worried about her plants. She also liked camping and enjoyed trips to Yellowstone and Idaho with all the kids in tow. One of Na Dene's favorite pastimes was compiling her family history; she has completed genealogy for several generations. She loved documenting family events with pictures and newspaper clippings into scrapbooks her family will continue to cherish. Na Dene was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she served in many callings. She especially loved serving as the Gospel Doctrine teacher. Na Dene was proud of her large family and was always concerned with how her children were doing and wanted to make sure they were happy. In her later years she really enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren and always wanted to know how everyone was doing. She loved knowing her family was happy.

Na Dene is survived by her husband, Jack La Monte (Monte)Waldron of St. George; Children: Deborah Biorge of Fruit Heights; Larry K. Jenkins (Annette), Draper; Russell L. Jenkins (Lynette), West Jordan; Lori H. Ostler (Jeff), Alpine; Tamra G. Pickett (John), Albuquerque, NM; Jacquelyn K. Bailey (Jeff), Enterprise; Mary E. Wenner (Thomas), South Jordan; David B.
