Theodore Ivan (Butch) Cole

February 23rd, 1939 - January 30th, 2019

Theodore Ivan (Butch) Cole of Olathe, CO passed away in the comfort of family and friends at Colorow Care Center on January 30th, 2019. Ivan was born February 23rd, 1939 in Boulder, CO to Cass and Susie Cole. He spent his childhood in Fraser and Norwood, CO where he met the love of his life, Glenda Mae (Booth). He graduated from Western State College where he was on the ski team, specializing in jumping. Ivan taught school for many years before becoming an independent businessman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a talented vocalist and artist but his true joy was spending time with his many grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Glenda, sons Ted (Drea) Cole of Montrose, and Rocky (Debra) Cole of Munford, TN, brother Ken (Betty) Cole, sister Cassie Skelton all of Montrose, 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Butch was preceded in death by his twin daughters Tina and Virginia Cole, son Christopher Cole, his parents, and sisters Sue Garner and Carol Lanzl.

A memorial service celebrating Ivan’s life will be held Saturday February 9th, 2019 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 21028 Uncompahgre Rd, Montrose, CO 81403.
