CASA GRANDE — Lonnie Dale Akins, 59, of Casa Grande, died on Jan. 21, 2019.


Mr. Akins was born on April 24, 1959, in Los Angeles, California, and was a son of Donal E. Akins Jr. and Betty L. Hubbard. He was devoted to his family and liked vintage cars and computers.


He was an active supporter of the Mothers Against Drunk Driving program, in memory of his daughter, and to help other families.


Survivors include his wife of 21 years, JoAnn; his mother, Betty Lee Silguero; two adult children: Scott, and Sheri Roberts; three siblings: Donna Wallington, Robin Snook, and Diane Perez; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.


He was preceded in death by his father; his stepfather, Aaron Silguero; a daughter, Emily Akins; and a brother, Glen Akins.


Funeral at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Jan. 26, at Church of Christ.
