Denese R. Ahrens gained her angel wings after a courageous eight-month battle with breast cancer.

Denese was born in Salt Lake City on January 30, 1950 to Ralph and LaJean Richardson. She was raised in Vernal and moved to Salt Lake City in 1968 to pursue her cosmetology career. She later operated a salon from her home, which allowed her to raise her children.

She loved being surrounded with family and friends for all celebrations. She loved her weekly shopping trips to Dillard’s and Marketsquare to find all the best deals. She was a member of the Red Hats group and enjoyed making memories with her many friends. She loved to travel to warm, sunny beaches and weekend getaways to Las Vegas to see all her favorite performers.

Denese is survived by her husband of forty-nine years, Roger; and children, Tina (Clark), Tonya, and Jeff (Joseph); along with grandchildren, Mackenzie, Baylee, Karson, Lauren, and Jaden; and great-grandchildren, Brodin and Mia. Denese is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and LeJean; sister, Lynette; and nieces and nephew, Jody, Angie, Andrea, and Chad.

A special thank you to her wonderful friends and neighbors who have been such a great support system to our mother during this difficult time.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road (1700 West), Taylorsville. The viewing is from 12:00-2:00 p.m., followed by the funeral services at 2:00 p.m.
