Darcy K. (Johnson) Robich, 65, passed away after a 9 year courageous battle with spinal cancer on Sunday, January 27, 2019. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Virginia at 11:00 am with visitation one-hour prior. Kari Olson will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the local animal shelter. Arrangements are with Range Funeral Home in Virginia. Darcy Kay Robich was born October 1, 1953 in Hibbing, MN to Kenneth and Donna (Boyum) Johnson. She attended Hibbing High School and graduated from Black River Falls High School. She attended cosmetology school and received her AA from Hibbing Community College later in life. On December 27, 1999, she was united in marriage to Victor L. Robich in Duluth, MN. She worked as a cook at the Root Beer Stand and a clerk at Burnstads Grocery, both in Black River Falls. She also worked for Interstate Detroit Diesel in Virginia during a layoff from Inland Steel Mining (Arcelor Mittal). She retired from Arcelor Mittal in 2011 as a warehouse clerk.

Darcy was a member of the Elk’s Club and USW Local 6115.

She enjoyed gardening/flowers, baking, feeding her “pet” deer and birds, camping and fishing at Shagawa Lake in Ely, her grandchildren and her beloved dogs.

Darcy touched everyone she met with her loving and vibrant personality. Her generosity and spiritual nature influenced the lives of many.

The family would like to thank all those who provided care to Darcy in her last months. Your care, love, and compassion will forever be appreciated.

She is survived by her daughter, Nicole Dambach (Jay Klimek) of Virginia; step-children, Amanda (Mike) Pluskwik of Eveleth, Sara Robich of Washington D.C., and Karl Robich of Breckinridge, CO; parents, Kenneth and Donna Johnson of Virginia; brother, Steve (Judy) Johnson of Eveleth; grandchildren, Gabe Dambach, Laif Pluskwik, Finn Pluskwik, and Alina Pluskwik; niece and goddaughter, Melissa Johnson; aunt, Delores Sikich; special cousin, Gerri Podrug; special friend, Pat Skalko; and childhood friend, Peter (Barb) Schmidt. Several other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor L. Robich; grandparents, Joe Boyum, Sarah Boyum Franson, Gunnar Franson, Oscar Johnson, and Mae Johnson
