Frances "Fran" Adamson Pauls, 88, died Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at Johnson Memorial Hospital of congestive heart failure.

She was born Sept. 17, 1918, in Fayetteville to the late John Franklin Atkinson and Cora Beryl Wagner. She graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1936. She served as class secretary and was the final surviving member of her class. She married Paul Adamson on Nov. 27, 1936, in Bedford. They moved to Franklin in 1954, where he died two years later.

Fran worked for Eli Lilly and Co. in Indianapolis and later worked for many years as an administrative assistant at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin.

In 1967, she married Richard Pauls, who survives.

Frances was a member of Greenwood Christian Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, and Tri Kappa and Pi Omicron philanthropic sororities. She also had volunteered as a Pink Lady at Johnson Memorial Hospital. Fran was an avid bridge, euchre and hearts player and loved Hoosier basketball.

Frances is survived by her husband; a sister, Annabelle Brinegar of Indianapolis; a daughter and son-in-law, Deanna and Stewart Yount of Greenwood; a son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Ronda Adamson of Bethesda, Md.; a daughter-in-law, Judy Adamson of Greenwood (wife of son P.D., who preceded her in death); five grandchildren, Erin (Chas) Heiling of North Fond du Lac, Wis., David (Carol) Yount of Carmel, Jill Adamson of Greenwood, Suzann (Robert) Maher of Greenwood and Kristina Frye of Virginia Beach, Va.; eight great-grandchildren, David and Abby Yount, both of Carmel, Colt Frye of Nineveh, Dylan and Brittani Frye, both of Bethesda, Md., Grace Maher of Greenwood and Michael and David Heiling, both of North Fond du Lac, Wis. She also is survived by stepchildren, stepgrandchildren, great-stepgrandchildren, a nephew, other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband; a son, Paul; and an infant son, Brian Dennis.

Services were entrusted to Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home of Franklin, Indiana.
