The only head of household Humbert that has been found in Coleman County at this time is David Gilchrist Humber. He had three children buried at Silver Valley Cemetery in 1888 and 1889 and a son buried there in 1959, so it is possible he was brought to Silver Valley to be buried. Family records show he was living in the San Angelo, Texas area by this time, as his first wife died there in 1893. She is buried near San Angelo.
Why was David Humber, his new wife of a few months and his family of 6 children at Pecan Springs in 1895 when his child died? ... possibly visiting friends. The McCords had a ranch at Pecan Springs and probably entertained there. Family histories do not shown another child, but here is the record that one was born and died between the 1880 and 1900 census.
