Billie Jean Sweeney Saul, 82, of Roanoke, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert and Gladys Bower Sweeney; her husband of 36 years, Alvin E. “Ducky” Saul; four brothers, Elbert Paul Sweeney, Jr., Robert Calvin Sweeney, Claude Edward Sweeney, Michael Lynn Sweeney; three sisters, Mary Sweeney Conner, Betty Sweeney Patsel and Wanda Sweeney. Billie is survived by four brothers, Sheldon R. Sweeney and wife, Darlene, Roger W. Sweeney and wife, Nancy, Lewis W. Sweeney, Jerry L. Sweeney and wife, Andrea; two sisters-in-law, Yvonne Sweeney, Rose Sweeney; and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Red Oak Manor for their dedicated care to Billie Jean.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, February 1, 2019 at Oakey’s Vinton Chapel with Pastor Terry Mabrey officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral at Oakey’s Vinton Chapel.
