Freddie Jerome Steele, a long-time resident of Kingsville, died March 11, 2008 at his residence in De Ridder, Louisiana where he moved after retiring from Houston Light and Power in Houston, Texas. He was born in Kingsville, Texas September 30,1933 and lived there for many years. He graduated from HM King High School and shortly thereafter moved to Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Guy and Ida Mae Stuth Steele, his older sister Anna Marie Steele Buehrig and infant sister Patricia Ann. He is survived by older brother, Joseph Charles Steele (Betty) of Acworth, Georgia; sister Mary Lou Steele Simmons (Clyde) of Ingleside, Texas and brother James Howard Steele of De Ridder, Louisiana; various nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews and great-great nephews. He will be greatly missed by all his friends who still have fond memories of having known him throughout the years. We ask that you say a prayer for him and keep kind thoughts of him in your hearts. Rosary will be said at St. Gertrude's Church in Kingsville, Texas at 6:00 p.m. April 1, 2008 and a funeral Mass will be celebrated in his honor at St. Gertrude's Church at 10:00 a.m. April 2, 2008. The family request that in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity you prefer or to the American Diabetes Association.
