SMITH Virginia Rose (Ball) Smith, age 81, of Oklahoma City, was born January 20, 1921 in Yukon, Oklahoma to Thomas and Edna Jane (Buck) Ball. She passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2002 at her residence. Mrs. Smith graduated from Putnam City High School, and also attended Blackwood Business College. She was a lab technician for Dr. Ralph Smith for 25 years, and had served as PTA President for Gatewood Elementary School. She was married to Wallace R. Smith on March 21, 1945, and they shared over 57 years together. She is survived by Wallace, as well as by her daughter Julie Wiggerman and Husband Roger; her son Kevin Smith and his wife Mary Allen; her sister Ruth Blackwood; and her grandchildren; Alicia Clark and her husband Robert, Alaina Holmes and William, Mary Kevan, Maynard and Christopher Smith. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Tyler Clark and Levin Holmes. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Vera Sampson and Frances Burton, and her brother Tommy Ball. Those wishing to visit with the family may do so from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. this evening at the funeral home. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 9, 2002 in the Watchorn Chapel of the First Presbyterian Church, 1001 NW 25th in Oklahoma City. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family would like to extend its thanks to the staff of the Hospice Center of Edmond for the exceptional care and love given to Mrs. Smith during her final illness.
