BURWELL - Ruth Agnes Ray, 84, of Burwell, died Saturday, June 3, 1995, at the Valley County Hospital in Ord. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Assembly of God Church, Burwell, with the Rev. Mike Blatchly officiating. Burial will be in the Grand Island Westlawn Cemetery (*cemetery given here not correct) with Fleming Funeral Home of Burwell in charge of arrangements. A memorial has been established at the Burwell Assembly of God Church.
Mrs. Ray was born Oct. 31, 1910, at Deertrail, Colo., to William and Emma (Reynolds) Chandler. She grew up and attended school in Grand Island. On Feb. 28, 1929, she married Charles Ray in Grand Island. In 1940, the couple moved to Arcadia. Mr. Ray died in 1959. In 1967, she moved to Ord, and in 1972, to Broken Bow. In 1980, she moved to Burwell. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church, the Rebekahs Lodge and the VFW Auxiliary.
Survivors include three sons, Jack Ray of Huntington Beach, Calif., Richard Ray of Stevensville, Mich., and Arthur Ray of Burwell; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, two brothers and one step great-grandson.
