Harvey Siegers, 67, and Marion Lowry, 74, were violently attacked at their business, Calumet Auto Rebuilders, on June 25, 1999, in Hammond, Indiana. Mr. Siegers died at St. Margaret Mercy Hospital in Hammond.
The State filed charges against multiple street-gang members in 2001, but the charges were dropped in 2002 when witnesses were afraid to testify for fear of retaliation.
In October 2018, the U.S. Attorney's office brought multiple Federal charges against six street-gang members, including charges for these two murders.
