1898 Death: Newspaper - The Free Lance, Hollister, San Benito County, California; Publication: Feb. 18, 1898; Obituary: Breen-at Hollister, Feb. 11, 1898, Mrs. Samuel Breen, mother of Mrs. Margaret Sanchez, a native of Ireland, age 98 years 3 months. The deceased was one of the pioneers of San Juan and a familiar figure in that town's early history. All her life, even to the last, she was an active woman, and her great age bears witness to the wonderful constitution with which she was gifted. The funeral took place last Sunday afternoon from the Catholic Church at this place.

She is buried at the Sacred Heart Calvary (Catholic) Cemetery in Hollister, CA, near her daughter, Margaret, and several grandchildren.
