Mr. Simril was born in Rock Hill and the son of the late John M. Simril and the late Mabel Glenn Simril. He was a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church and retired as the owner and operator of Charles Chips. In addition to his parents, Mr. Simril was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Betty Jean Williams Simril and his two brothers, Johnny Simril and Bobby Simril.
A Celebration of Life service for Mr. Simril will be 11:00 am, Friday, January 25, 2019 at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, 2132 Ebenezer Road with Dr. Mel Wines and Reverend Matt Allison officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends following the service in the Bailey Building and other times at the home.
Mr. Simril is survived by his son, David Glenn Simril, Jr (Patti); his daughters, Clare Hayes (Windell), and Glenda Small (Butch), all of Rock Hill; his grandchildren, Stephanie McKinney, Rachael Hernandez, Jennifer Larson, and Kurt Small; his five great-grandchildren; his special friend, Mary Dubard; his sister-in-law, Jessie Lynn Simril of High Point, NC; and his brothers-in-law, Jack Barnes, James Covington, and Tommy Williams. The family would like a special recognition to his caregivers, Always Best Care of Rock Hill.
