Mary Ellen was born into a family that loved and appreciated music.. She taught piano lessons for several years in Wisconsin and Hot Springs.
She worked with her husband in pioneering a new church in Newton Valley and Viroqua, Wisconsin. Mary Ellen had a beautiful alto voice and sang and played for many occasions including weddings, funerals, and receptions.
Mary Ellen loved flowers, vegetation, and antiques. She never tired of the Hills and animals, and always loved seeing buffalo, antelope, and deer.
From 1957 through 2002 she enjoyed life in Hot Springs working alongside her husband at the Assembly of God Church. They moved to Rapid City in 2002. Mary Ellen continued at the side of her husband as they initiated a ministry of bible studies,
She is survived by her three children, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren: and one sister.
Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Dahlberg; her brothers: Clarence Haas, Roger Haas, and Donald Haas; her sister, Betty Jane Grams; and two of her sons, David Dahlberg and Paul Dahlberg.
