Frediric William (Bill) Johnson passed away at home in the early morning hours of Dec. 23, 2018 at the age of 88 years 2 months & 2 days. Bill was born in Lansing, Ml Oct. 21, 1930 during the Great Depressions to Stanley M. Johnson and Elsie (Cooley) Johnson. Bill began his working career in Michigan as a Punch Press Operator at GM immediately after graduating from Fulton High School. He then entered the U.S. Air Force in March of 1951, was at Clark Field, Philippines. He volunteered for several flights carrying first aid and supplies to troops in Korea, picked up the wounded and flew to American Hospitals in Japan then returned to Clark Field. After receiving his Honorable Discharge, Bill enlisted in the U.S. Army on the same day of his discharge for another 2 years, both stints during the Korean War. Bill worked for the Santa Fe R.R. starting at the bottom and promoted through the ranks to Asst. Train Master before retiring.

Bill loved horse racing and was a trainer, owner and avid handicapper. He also loved music and played guitar and bass at many hot spots around Fresno, CA in the early days and later spent 13 years playing with Deanna Cook and his beloved wife Juanita at the Old Corner Saloon in Clements, CA. Bill's favorite musicians were Johnny Cash and Buck Owens. Bill was a member of: Linden Lions Club of Linden, the American Legion, VFW, and was a Master Mason of the Valley Lodge.

Bill is survived by one sister, Phyllis Welch of Alma, Ml. His parents, other siblings and his beloved wife Juanita V. (Mowery) Johnson have preceded him in death. He is mourned by his children, step-children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Rocha's of Lodi are caring for his arrangements. Per his wishes, no service will be held. Private interment will be arranged and close family and friends will be notified and invited.
