Robert "Bob" Carr, 73, of Scott City died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, at home.

He was born Feb. 15, 1930, at Truman, Ark., son of the late Clyde and Ida Mae Randall Carr. He and Eleanor Gould were united in marriage on Nov. 19, 1955, at Advance, Mo. She survives of the home.

Carr was employed with the Drury Co. for 10 years. After an early retirement, he owned Bob's Furniture and Antiques in Dutchtown. From 1989 until 2001 you could find him helping his wife and daughter at Country At Heart in Scott City.

Carr attended the First Freewill Baptist Church of Cape Girardeau.

Of all the accomplishments he made and with all the hardships he endured through illness, he was an inspiration to his friends and family. He gave his heart to the Lord on Oct. 18, 2001, at 4 a.m.; from that day forward his testimony in life and death will always be cherished by those who loved him and knew him through it all.

Survivors include two sons, Bobby Carr of Zalma and Tom Carr of Madisonville, Ky.; two daughters, Clemmie Geiser of Cape Girardeau and Karen Sanders of Scott City; a brother, Clyde Carr of Galien, Mich.; a sister, Anna Mae Sheppard of Bremen, Ind.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant sister and a great-grandson.

Friends may call from 4:30 to 8 p.m. at the Morgan Funeral Home in Advance.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Ellis Grant, the Rev. John Rhodes and the Rev. Chris Girard will officiate.

Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
