Madge was born on December 17, 1921 in Warren County. She was the daughter of the late Glen and Edith (McIntosh) Pribble. She was raised in Warren County and graduated from Williamsport High School in 1939. She then attended the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in Lafayette, graduating in 1941.
Madge worked as a nurse at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette for 16 years. She was active in the Attica Christian Church. She loved to spend her extra time wood working.
Madge married Charles Cyrus Barnhart on October 18, 1945. He was a Mobil Oil Agent for 35 years. He preceded her in death on May 10, 1994.
Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Newboles-Jones, Lafayette; two grandchildren, Jason Stetler, Lafayette and Heather (Lawrence) Alonzo, Chandler, AZ; and four great-grandchildren, Devon, Zachary & Isiah Alonzo and Laren Stetler.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie Beckett.
Visitation will be held at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Monday January 28 from 12:00 noon until the service time of 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Duane Mycroft officiating. Burial will follow in the West Lebanon Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Attica Christian Church, 411 E. Sycamore St., Attica.
