GAINESVILLE, Fla. Rosalie Jean Phillips, 79, of Gainesville, Fla., and formerly of Elwood, died Nov. 28, 2003, at Oak View Rehab and Care Center in Williston, Fla.
Born Feb. 15, 1924, in Elwood, she was the daughter of George and Delcie (Passwater) Scott.
She was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in the Waves in World War II. She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and led the children's choir and a member of the Past Fireman's Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Edgar E. Phillips; a daughter, Victoria McArthur of Gainesville, Fla.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Angela Ford.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles Gilbert and Navy Chaplain Ronald May .ciating. Burial will be in Elwood City Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
