Portsmouth - Nicholas Louis Facenda, 89, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2011. He was a native of Portsmouth and was the son of the late Attillo and Laura Facenda. He retired from the City of Portsmouth and was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church. He is predeceased by his wife, Clara Facenda.
He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Abraham and husband Mark; three sons, Thomas Facenda, Ronald Facenda and Robert Facenda and wife Lucy; a sister, Ann Harris; nine grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and one great great grandson.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, December 30, at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 7 - 8:30 p.m. Food and friends will be received at Facenda's Italian Resturant after the funeral.
