Alamo, GA- Services for Elizabeth Sears Clark will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 14, 2019 at Alamo United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Clark Family Cemetery. Rev. Henry Bass will officiate.
Ms. Clark was born in Wheeler County. She was the daughter of the late Kelly N. Sears and Myra Clements Sears and lived most of her life in Wheeler County. A graduate of Shiloh High School, Ms. Clark received her MA in Elementary Education from Georgia Southwestern College. She was a member of the Alamo United Methodist Church where she served as Church Pianist for over 30 years.
Ms. Clark was retired from the Wheeler County School System after 34 years of teaching in the Elementary School. She was a member of the Telfair-Wheeler Retired Teachers Association and the Half Century Club of Brewton-Parker College in Mt. Vernon.
Ms. Clark served as co-director of the Youth program at Alamo United Methodist Church for many years and was chairman of the church worship committee and member of the church council. Other memberships included A.A.R.P., the Heart of Georgia Altamaha Regional Development Center, Wheeler County Chamber of Commerce, and the Silver Haired legislature. She was also a representative of the National Silver Haired Congress.
She is survived by her two sons: William Ronny Clark (Scarlett) and Cary Alan Clark (Marion); five grandchildren: Christy Clark Wray(Tommy), Mark Clark (Kim), Honey Clark Cook (Steve), Adam Clark, and Melanie Clark Knight (Rhett); eight great-grandchildren: Loren Wray, Taylor Ann Wray, Karmin Clark, Kamrin Clark, Carson Cook, Carter Cook, Kaden Knight, and Kadee Knight. She was preceded in death by her husband: William S. Clark; sisters: Clara S. Stacy and Jeanette Drawhorn; brothers: Norman Sears, Kenneth Sears, and Marcus Sears.
The family will be receiving friends Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Towns Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Donations can be made to Alamo United Methodist Church in lieu of flowers.
Towns Funeral Home of Alamo is in charge of arrangements.
