Sara L. "Sally" Blackwell, 81, a longtime Martinsville resident, passed peacefully from this life on Sunday, August 12, 2018 in the comfort of her home with loved ones by her side. Sally's life began on February 13, 1937 in Indianapolis, IN. She was born to the late Norman J. Hutchinson and Thelma Louise (Fisler) Temples. Sally previously worked for the Metropolitan School District of Martinsville, working in the cafeteria at East Middle School, she also worked for Arvin Industries in Franklin and Blackwell Construction. Sally was a dedicated homemaker; talented seamstress and enjoyed hairdressing and singing gospel music with her brother, Rev. J.D. Temples. Sally was a member of the Lighthouse Tabernacle Church in Gosport. She had a great love for the Lord and she enjoyed ministering to others. She will be sadly missed by her loving family including two sons, daughters, sisters, grandchildren, and her great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her former husbands, Elman Sizemore, Robert E. "Pinky" Morgan and George Blackwell; son, Stewart Lane Schoffner; grandchildren Jeremiah Cody and Jonathon David Morgan; sister, Judith Ann Styer and brother, Rev. J.D. Temples. Family and friends are invited to a graveside service on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Nineveh Cemetery in Nineveh, IN. There will be a service, to be announced at a later date, to celebrate Sally's life. The family would appreciate memorial contributions in lieu of flowers to be made to Down Syndrome Indiana, 708 E.
