LaWana Allred Stanley, a lifelong resident of Utah, passed away with her family by her side at the Payson Bennion Veterans Home in Payson on January 17, 2019 at the age of eighty-five. She was a faithful and an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

LaWana was born March 19, 1933 in Fountain Green to Alden Carter Allred and Mada Gee Allred. She married James Leroy Stanley on August 13, 1949. They later sealed their marriage in the Manti Temple. They raised three children together.

LaWana lived her life gardening, canning, sewing, camping, hunting, and fishing. She was a hard-working woman, as she was employed at the Nephi Food Bank until her death.

She was loved by many and will be missed terribly. Her family reunions meant so much to her as time spent with each and everyone. She was a loving person and always had open arms for a warm hug.

LaWana is survived by her daughters, Lila (Vance) Marshall of Salem and Carol Ann Stanley of Nephi; sister, ZoAnn (Eldon) Belliston, of Nephi; grandchildren, Dylan (Christine) Woten of Elko, Nevada; Meloney (Rodney) Nelson of Roosevelt; Tony (Patrica) Sandberg of Orem; Kevin (Jill) Woten of Elko; Yancey (Leroy) Valenzuela of Payson; Shannie Cook (Don) of Lehi; Mindy Allen (Scott) of Levan; and Kallie Cook (Rick) of Nephi; many, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband, James LeRoy Stanley; son, Alden LeRoy Stanley; brother, Don G. Allred; parents, Alden Carter and Mada Allred; and great-grandson, Pat Valenzuela.

Her family gives a special thanks to the Payson Bennion Veterans Home and staff and Central Valley Medical Center for taking such great care of LaWana.

There will be a viewing held at Anderson Funeral Home in Nephi from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 21, 2019.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 in the Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi.
