Age 70, of 8499 E. M·71, Durand passed away Saturday. May 15,1982 at The Memorial Hospital. Death was attributed to a sudden heart attack. Funeral services will be held at Bellows Funeral Home, Durand on Tuesday, 1 p.m. with Pastor Darrelll Foltz officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorials Gardens.
The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church, Durand.
Mr. Ayers was born September 7, 1911 in Gibson County, Indiana the son of Lewis and Nellie Ayers. He resided in Durand for the past 23 years and previously in Jackson and Indiana. He married Edria Scblaug June 4, 1954 in Auburn, Indiana. Mr. Ayers worked at Bankers Dispatch Corporation for 16 years.
Survivors include his wife, Edna; a daughter, Mrs. Lawrence (Amber) McKay of Durand; a granddaughter; 2 stepsons, Kenneth and Ronald Tripp of Jackson; a stepdaughter, Marjorie McGilvera of Jackson: 7 step-grandchildren; 7 step-great-grandchildren; 2 brothers; Gllbert and Dudley Ayers of Princeton, Indiana; a sister, Rosalind Richeson of Denver, Colorado.
