Robert M. Grissmeyer, 73, Phillips, formerly of Marshfield and Prentice, died Aug. 13, 2008, at Pleasant View Aspirus Nursing Home in Phillips under the care of Flambeau Home Health and Hospice.

He was born Jan. 22, 1935, in Milwaukee, the son of John and Lorraine (Ziegler) Grissmeyer. He spent his early life and schooling in Milwaukee. Following his schooling he served his country in the U. S. Marine Corps serving in the United States and the Phillippines. He was married to Bonnie Wickman in 1964 in Milwaukee. They later divorced. He was employed by the Koehring Crane Corporation of Milwaukee until making his home in Prentice in 1973. While in Prentice, he was employed by Blount Manufacturing and owned and operated the Nutty Pine Bar prior to his retirement in 1998. He served his community as a member of the Prentice Lions' Club, a supervisor for the village of Prentice and the Price County Board. In his free time he was an avid sportsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting and watching the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers.

He is survived by one daughter Kelly Grissmeyer, Phillips; by one son Jeffrey (Michelle), Prentice; by three granddaughters; by his mother Lorraine Neider, Milwaukee; by one step-grandson; by two sisters, Shirley (Albert) Jenich, Milwaukee, and Kathy (Ronnie) DeBare, West Allis; by one brother John (Charlotte), Waukesha; and by special friend Marlene Lorenz, Marshfield.

He was preceded in death by his father and by three brothers.
