Florene Elizabeth Robertson, 83 years, of Hominy, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018 at the Cleveland Area Hospital, in Cleveland, Oklahoma. She was a life-long Hominy resident. She was born in Hominy, on September 14, 1934, to Freddy and Maggie Lavine (Lopez) Sparks.

She graduated from Hominy High School, and went on to receive her Bachelor’s Degree from Langston University in Langston, Oklahoma.

Florene married Lawrence “L.C.” Cecil Robertson, who passed away in 1983. She worked as a seamstress for Munsingwear and Southwest Cupid, owned a daycare, owned the “Hide-Away” Café, and started the first Hominy Head Start. Florene attended the Church of God in Christ, Sweet Home Baptist Church, in Fairfax, Oklahoma and Calvary Worship Center in Hominy.

Florene is survived by 5 children: Ricky Butler, Terry Sparks, Kevin Sparks, Anthony Sparks, and Natasha Kincaid; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Lewis Sparks and Glenn Humphrey; 4 sisters, Norma Patterson, Leoma Sparks, Fredricka Sparks, and Juanita Gilkey.

Florene is preceded in death by: her husband, her parents, her son, Nathan David Sparks, and 15 siblings.

Funeral services will be at 10:00, Friday, April 27, 2018 at the Calvary Worship Center in Hominy with the Pastor Michael Cephus officiating. Burial will follow services at the A. J. Powell Memorial Cemetery in Hominy.
