Steve was the 3rd child of John Wallace Holden and Lola Marie Varnell. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Marie Fain nee Holden, Dora Lee Oswalt nee Holden, Diana Holden who passed as an infant. He was survived at the time of his death by his brother James Wallace Holden of Washington and three sons, Cody, Tyler and Andrew of Idaho.
