LAYTON – Arlo Wiley Blanchard, 91, passed away January 15, 2019, at his home and now is reunited with his wife.

He was born January 22, 1927, in Monarch, Utah, the son of Ira Edmond Blanchard and Julia Sophiah Barnes. Throughout his life he lived in Monarch, Roosevelt, Benjamin, Salt Lake City, Kearns, and Layton. At 17 years old he was drafted into the U.S. Army.

Arlo married Anna Louise Bristol on December 16, 1946 in Duchesne, Utah.

Arlo was a supervisor in manufacturing of missile boosters in Hercules where he retired.

He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved being a greeter at church with his sweet wife Louise, being part of a sealing group in the Temple and a home teacher.

Arlo liked golfing, fishing, hunting and baseball. Most of all he loved his family.

Surviving are his sons, David (Dorothy) Blanchard, Magna; Mark (Leah) Blanchard, Layton; daughters, Laraine Kearsley, Layton; Vickey Willard (Charlie Clark), West Valley City; Arlene Nott, West Haven; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, sister Irene (Ferron) Moon, Taylorsville; and many dearly loved in-laws and Blanchard and Bristol nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his wife Louise, parents, five brothers, two sisters, one great-granddaughter and many dearly loved Bristol family members.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Saturday from 12:15 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.

If you knew him, you loved him. Thanks to neighbors and ward members for all their love and service. We will miss his jokes. The world was always brighter when he was near. He will be greatly missed.
