He was born May 8, 1893 a son of the late Rolandus ami Sarah Klose Hassinger. He first married Sally Musselman who died in 1947. His second wife, the former Marie Pearl Hoar, survives.
Mr. Hassinger had been employed by Standard Steel Co., Burnham, and he had worked as an auctioneer.
He was a member of Hassinger's White Lutheran Church, Middleburg RD1; Union County Beagle Club; Kreamer Sportsmen's Club; and the Reliance Hose Company of Middleburg.
In addition to his widow he is survived by four daughters, Mrs.Ralph Haine of Mifflinburg, Mrs. Bruce Minnier of Middleburg, Mrs. Albert Hause of Winfield RD1 and Mrs. Stanford Bowersox of Middleburg; one step - daughter Mrs. Ray Dippery of Lewistown; two sisters, Mrs.Charles Kinney of Middleburg and Mrs.Arthur Emery of Selinsgrove; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in, the Hassinger Funeral Home, Middleburg, by the Rev. Paul R. Ashby of Shamokin Dam. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery, Middleburg. Friends will be received in the funeral home Monday evening.
