Ryan Leighton Barganier, age 40, of Blountville, TN, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Duke University Hospital. He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Bennet Barganier; stepfather, J. Fred Lunsford; and grandparents, Frank Patterson Day, Sr. and Betty Day.
Ryan was a loving father, brother, son and friend, and was a dedicated Christian with a deep abiding love for his God. Everyone loved him. From the age of 4, he had endured numerous medical conditions and pain. He fought through the adversity of it all because he enjoyed life. Ryan was an avid University of TN fan and movie goer.
He is survived by his son, Ryan Leighton Barganier, Jr.; brother, Les Vannoy; mother, Janie Day Lunsford; stepdaughter, Victoria; and uncles, The Rev. Dr. Tom Day and Dr. Frank Day, Jr.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, January 18, 2019 at Gravelly Baptist Church, 647 Gravely Road, Kingsport, TN. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor David Salley officiating. The committal service and entombment will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Glenwood Cemetery in Bristol, TN.
