Myrtle Gaudet Hidalgo, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who enjoyed cooking. She was 91 when she passed away at Ollie Steel Burden Manor Hospice of Baton Rouge Butterfly Wing on Saturday, April 7, 2007. She was a resident of Addis and a native of Thibodaux.

Entombment in the church mausoleum with her husband of more than 50 years, Everett J. Hidalgo Sr. She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Maurice Pomes of Baton Rouge and Carolyn "Coonie" and Warren Sheets of Addis; her son and daughter-in-law, Everett Jr. "Buddy" and Marie Hidalgo of Spring, Texas; a sister, Ruth G. Martinez of Thibodaux; and a brother, Nolan Gaudet of Metairie. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett J. Hidalgo Sr.; a daughter, Linda Hidalgo; a grandson, Brett Devall; her parents, Eugene and Augusta "Gussie" Lefort Gaudet; and two brothers, Earl and Louis Gaudet.

Special thanks to Dr. Michael Rolfsen. A very special thanks to the staff of Hospice of Baton Rouge Butterfly Wing for their wonderful care. Their compassion and thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Baton Rouge, Butterfly Wing, 9063 Siegen Lane, Suite A, Baton Rouge, LA 70810.
