HUTCHENS Corpus Christi, TexasMartha Edmonds Hutchens, 94 passed away March 24, 2010. She was born to Joseph F. and Mattie Brunson Edmonds April 1, 1915 in Abbeville, South Carolina. Martha moved from Abbeville to Mathis, Texas in 1932. Martha married David Allen Hutchens in 1936. The family moved to Corpus Christi, Texas in 1957 where she resided until her death. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Corpus Christi, Texas.Mrs. Hutchens was preceded in death by her husband, David Allen Hutchens, brothers and sisters, William C. Edmonds, Nettie E. Estes, Elizabeth E. DuBose, Frances E. Martin, Joseph Edmonds, Rebecca E. Guynes, Jack Edmonds, and Robert Edmonds. One granddaughter, Martha Gayle Jackson and two great granddaughters, Kimberlyn Jackson and Laura Caroline Fish.She is survived by two daughters; Mary Lou (Tom) Jackson of Corpus Christi, Texas, Rebecca (Donald) Dixon of Kansas City, Missouri. One son; David A. (Alison) Hutchens Jr. of Beeville, Texas. Five grandchildren; Tom Jackson Jr., Robert Allen Jackson, Joel Ross Jackson, Lucinda Dixon and Heather Hutchens Fish. Nine great grandchildren; Joshua Jackson, Sarah Jackson, Erica Jackson, Parker Jackson, Joreelyn Jackson, Louis Sharp Jackson, Matthew Dixon, Ethan Best, and Jeffrey Preston Fish.Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 27. 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at the Chapel of First Baptist Church of Corpus Christi.
