Pauline E. "Polly" Maule
PAYETTE — Pauline E. "Polly" Maule, 91, of Payette, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 1990, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law it Ontario, Ore., following a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at St. James Episcopal Church, Payette. The Rev. Pat Bell of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, Ontario, and the Rev. Craig Heverly of The Seven Rivers Cluster of Episcopal Churches, will co-officiate. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Payette. Arrangements are under direction of the Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette.
Polly was born Oct. 1, 1899, at Mackay, Iowa, the fifth child of Adolph and Margrete Ahrens. She attended school and nurses training in Pilot Mound and Boone, Iowa. She moved to Payette in 1918, where she worked at Farber's Department Store until her marriage to Dwight Maule in 1927.
She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church; and a 50-year member of Lorraine Chapter #20, OES, Payette.
Polly was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend whose home was open to one and all. Her hobbies included an avid love of bridge; she was always willing to join a foursome of friends. She also enjoyed golfing until she was 82 years old. Other interests were her garden, her church, and her grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Glorian and Glen Crosby, and Merlyn and Roger Ashby of Ontario; a son and his wife, Bill and Carole Maule of Roseburg, Ore.; nine grandchildren, Debbie Crosby, Hollie Crosby Mooney, Leanne Crosby, Dennis Redmond, Ed Redmond, Kathleen Redmond Voller, Lisa Redmond Linden, Marilyn Maule Barecca and Karen Maule; two great-grandchildren, Bryn Mooney and Nathan Linden; five sisters, Kathryn Ahrens of Ontario, Tillie Reiher of Payette, Marie Barge of Salem, Ore., Mayme Rose of Portland, Ore., and Ellen Bigelow of Payette; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dwight; and a brother, Otto Ahrens.
