She met Lloyd Alexander on VE Day in Paris, where he was studying at the University of Paris, and married him the next year, 1946. They moved back to his native United States and settled in his hometown of Drexel Hill, where he went on to be a well-known author. Her husband passed away just two weeks after she did.
