William J. Paluck, 83, Dickinson, died Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at St. Luke’s Home Dickinson. William’s Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Monday, January 14, 2019 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Msgr. Patrick Schumacher as celebrant. Interment will take place a the Dawson County Cemetery, Glendive, Mont. Military Honors will be provided by the Dickinson American Legion Post 3 Honor Guard. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with a rosary and vigil at 3 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service with Deacon Bob Zent presiding.

William Joseph Paluck was born November 15, 1935 in Belfield, son of Joseph and Anna (Paladijchuk) Paluck. He was raised and educated in the Belfield area and at the age of 16 he entered the US Air Force where he served honorably for four years, upon his discharge he returned to Belfield and finished high school. William was united in marriage to Betty Lou Thompson on July 7, 1959 in Belfield. Betty’s death occurred on November 9, 1994.

He joined the Army Reserve and the National Guard and served honorably for a total of 29 1/2 years of military service. He had also attended Dawson Community College where he received an Associate of Arts Degree. He had worked in Glendive, Mont. for Sweetheart Bread, Coca Cola and after a 20 years with WBI in Dickinson he retired. While living in Glendive, he had served as a volunteer for the Glendive Fire Department. Willie was united in marriage to Viola (Obritschkewitsch) Karsky at Fort Peck, Mont. on July 18, 1998.

Willie is survived by his wife, Vi; their children, Toby (Pamela) Paluck, Salida, Calif., Guy (Michele) Paluck, Manhattan, Mont., Perry (Susan) Paluck, Vancouver, Wash., Teresa Karsky, Denver, Colo., James (Laura) Karsky, Dickinson, Steve (Kelly) Karsky, Savage, Minn. and Robert (Susie) Karsky, Phoenix, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Jillian Paluck, Portland, Ore., Zonie Zygmond, Havre, Mont. and Rita Mulbrook, Leawood, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Lou; his parents; brothers, Mike, Frank, Louie, and Rudolph; sisters, Helen, Mary and Victoria; and one brother in infancy.
