Carnes Creech died peacefully in Marion General Hospital on January 3, 2019, at the age of 94. She was born on August 9, 1924, to Ralph and Ara (Cecil) Brane on a farm in Wabash County.

Growing up during the Great Depression, she learned lessons that served her well. She graduated from Sweetser High School in 1942, and she married Blaine Carnes in 1942. After helping her children grow and mature, she started a second career as a bank teller and investor. Donna was a devoted member of Marion First Friends Church and was active in the church with Willard Creech, her husband for the past 12 years.

Donna loved and celebrated her family. She is survived by her husband, Willard Creech; sister, Bonnie Cypher; children, Sherry Beatty, Kevin (Christe) Carnes, and Gary (Jeanne) Carnes; step-children, Vickie Wilson, Michael Creech, Dennis Creech, and Tracy Creech; six grandchildren, Mike (Amy) Ryan, Matt (Mandy) Carnes, Katie (Aaron) Pedigo, Kendra (Dave) Platteter, Kerry (Marcus) Cossey, and Ashley (Mike) Beatty-Kopang; and three great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by Blaine, her husband of 60 years; sister, Opal Elzey; and infant great-grandson, Jackson Pedigo.

Friends and family may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Donna’s funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, with Rev. Jeff Nagell officiating. Burial will follow at Estates of Serenity (Marion IOOF).
