Evelyn Willie Smith Ennis, 86, of Broadway, VA died January 7, 2019 at her residence.
She was born August 1, 1932 in Bergton, and was a daughter of the late William Ashby and Rosa Dove Smith.
Evelyn worked at Brockway before retiring. She was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Fulks Run. She enjoyed working in her yard and garden. She loved her children and grandchildren.
In 1946 she married Allen Gordon Ennis, who preceded her in death April 2, 1994.
Surviving are two daughters, Donna Hawkins and husband Gary of Mt. Jackson, and Cindy Sites and husband Don of Timberville; two sons, Norman Ennis and wife Debra of Broadway, and Randy Ennis and wife Loretta of Fulks Run; one sister, Marie Thompson of Bergton; 9 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Dale Ennis; her brother, Floyd Smith, and her sister, Floretta Wilt.
Rev. Darin Buse will conduct a funeral service 2:00 PM Friday at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Caplinger cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Thursday at Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
